Last week was a very busy week for Lucy. On Tuesday she was lying on the floor, playing with her toys as usual when all of a sudden she pushed herself into the sitting position. I couldn't believe it! Later that day I put her down for a nap and she started to wail. I went in her room to check on her and she was sitting up in the crib, banging on the side. It was soo cute I had to take a picture of her in there. Her face is red from crying, but she is smiling too.
She also started "talking" a ton last week. It was like the flood gates had opened! She is just nonstop babbling and the funniest thing is her tone when she does it is so serious. I think she's been listening to my road rage a little too often!
Also a few times she's crawled out of the sitting position, but I don't think that's an officially mastered skill yet. Just as often she kerplunks down on her side or rolls on her back.
With the arrival of a tooth on Saturday, it was a very big week!
Here are some random pics from the last few weeks.

No longer toothless and ruthless
Lucy's first tooth is finally coming in! She'd been chewing on her tongue a lot and on Saturday my mom took a peek and sure enough, there was a tooth! It's tiny and barely poking out, but super cute! Unfortunately the teething seems to have caused her to wake up continuously during the night. A small price to pay for pearly whites I guess.
Lucy has also decided that maybe solids aren't too bad. All though she is still not THAT excited about eating from a spoon, she humors me. Her favorites these days are apples, pears and sweet potatoes. She tolerates carrots, peas, zucchini. She does not like white potatoes(who doesn't like potatoes??), wasn't too crazy about peaches and seems to despise bananas.
I am still making her food and I really enjoy it. Not just because it is cheaper than store bought food(though that is a plus), but I like the fact that I know I am giving her the freshest food possible.
In the next few weeks I plan on adding some spices to her food to liven things up a bit and also some meat! I can't wait to see her reaction to that :)

Bluebonnets
Like every other person in Texas, I had to get pictures of my child with the bluebonnets. There are so many in this area, it's really beautiful. Of course, most are on the side of the highway and I didn't want to stop there. So I drove around Lake Conroe and found the perfect patch. And only one bluebonnet was harmed in the making of these photos. (See above picture)

Hippety Hoppety Easters on its Way!
Today we went to The Woodlands mall to get a picture with the Easter Bunny. I wasn't sure how Lucy would react to a giant white rabbit, as she seems to have a stranger aversion these days. The line wasn't too long, but the kid in front of us screamed through the entire process. I held my breath and gently placed Lucy in the bunny's lap. She turned and looked at the bunny for a few seconds... and then she turned back to me and smiled!
